biography

BELAKISS is a rock band from London consisting of four people.
Ruali and Tatia met and met at an event at the London East End. The encounter between these two was the beginning of BELAKISS.
In 2009, BELAKISS will start with the addition of Ben.
By joining Ben, the edgy guitar sound of BELAKISS, which can be called psychedelic rock, is established. They are not in the form of front vocalists & bands often found in modern rock bands. The character of their sound is close to that of the many rock bands that valued the harmony that often existed in the London West End in the 60s.
Ruari's husky but sweet voice is overwhelmed by Ben's whiskey-stained-howls, and when the voice of female Tatia joins, their unique harmony is born. At the end of 2010, they welcomed Alfie as a drummer and their new career started.
Formerly a Carl Barrer of The Libertines and a front act for Sunshine Underground, he is active mainly at clubs in London.
Contracted with Office Augusta in 2011. This is the first contract with a foreign artist for Office Augusta.
On July 2011, 7, from Ariola Japan/Augusta Records, they made their first debut in Japan with the world's first DEBUT ALBUM "BELAKISS".
The lead song "ONLY YOU" of the album has been selected as a power play by FM19 stations nationwide, and its high workability has become a big topic among music people and Western music fans.
Appeared one after another at large outdoor festivals this summer, such as "FUJI ROCK FESTIBAL `11" and "JOIN ALIVE 2011". With a masterpiece performance, he proved his ability as a live band and won the hearts of many audiences.

detailed-profile

BELAKISS kicked rock and roll from a fixed concept cage!

For many years, the British music scene has been dominated by two similar but opposing opponents, indie rock and electropop. However, BELAKISS's four hearts always have "old-fashioned souls." In other words, the original scene of their music must be in that bohemian Bohemian club of the 4s. You will never be fooled by contemporary music that retreats or, on the contrary, runs excessively.

Guitarist and vocalist Larry Meehan is not an amateur of the music industry. He signed to a major label at the age of 15 and saw the backside of the industry early on. The label paid attention to his vivid and pure voice and tried to debut as an idol boy band, but he stubbornly defended his rock spirit and finally left the label.

He then had a fateful encounter with Tasha Starkey at a party at the Vampire Warehouse in the East End of London. At the night's darkness and decadence-themed event, the two quickly found their way to each other, discovering many similarities. The most common thing is that both sides were born and raised in a drummer family. Luary's father is Tony Meehan, former Cliff Richard & The Shadows drummer. And Tasha's father is The Who, and (former) Oasis drummer Zack Starkey. And my grandfather is that Beatles apple star.

Tasha aspires to learn bass from Luary. The two gradually started collaborating on music, and Leary taught Tasha how to play bass chords and back vocals.

In 2009, Tasha began to meet with lead guitarist and vocalist Ben Sheldrick. With his experience and weight in the London rock band, Ben has added a new "manly dirty side" to BELAKISS.

Ben's whiskey screams and Luary's sweet melody are competing for each other. Ben and Luary immediately became songwriting partners. We will push each other, attract each other, and aim for new musical heights.

Ben affirms
"There's no such thing as dust in the 80's disco beat rules." "We're not an indie pop junkyard," Luary added. "Every thought is blended into the cells and melody of our song. It's a mixture of the influences of old American West Coast bands like THE BYRDS and CROSBY STILLS & NASH with ancient rock."

And at the end of 2010, Alfie Milner, a former Ben band member, joined as a drummer. The drumming instantly tightens their sound. Finally BELAKISS finds a heartbeat.

The other day, they recorded an album at the famous Chapel Studios, following Arctic Monkeys' "HIGH-HEELED SNEAKERS". Let's walk the soulful side with BELAKISS.
